Amir is a Southern California tournament professional with a funny and charming personality.
Amir Vahedi spent a good deal of time tutoring actor Ben Affleck in his poker game. Ben Affleck later went on to be a
student of Annie Duke and won the California state poker championship.
In 2003 Amir Vahedi made the final table of the main event of the World Series of Poker and finished 6th, netting a
$250,000 prize.
Earlier in the series he won his first WSOP bracelet and $270,000 in a separate no limit Texas hold'em event.
Amir Vahedi was named no limit Texas hold'em player of the year in 2001 and was 2nd place to Men "The Master" Nguyen for
Card Player's 2003 player of the year.
